According to NPR, “In 2003, a survey of female veterans found that 30 percent said they were raped in the military. A 2004 study of veterans who were seeking help for post-traumatic stress disorder found that 71 percent of the women said they were sexually assaulted or raped while serving. And a 1995 study of female veterans of the Gulf and earlier wars, found that 90 percent had been sexually harassed.”

Tony Blair’s fortune is set to treble to £45million next year as he returns to his lucrative career after appearing at the Iraq war inquiry.The former PM and wife Cherie are building up a property empire and Mr Blair now plans to maximise his earnings over the next two years. Friends of the pair have told the Sunday Mirror Mr Blair – who will be 57 on the expected General Election date of May 6 – wants to build up a “substantial” retirement nest egg before he hits 60.

In our own agnostic age, we have fixed on child sexual abusers, who are mercilessly pursued, whether guilty or - as so often transpires - innocent. In an effort to highlight the corruption that blights India a charity based in the South Asian country has issued a rupee banknote that has no value whatsoever.
5th Pillar, a charity which also has offices in the U.S. and Singapore, says on its website that corruption is "one of the deep rooted evils" of the Indian nation.

WASHINGTON – For China these days it seems that nothing – not rising energy prices; not sanctions aimed at its more unsavoury business partners, Myanmar and Sudan; not even the prospect of a nuclear Iran – can curb its thirst for oil.
